This sand snob found a brand new favorite in cayman islands villa rentals. Not divers I wasn`t sure what our family would do over a recent trip to Grand Cayman. Grand Cayman is flat, over developed, expensive (all things are imported), not at all my cup of tea. Approximately I was thinking.
As being a travel professional I often feel pressured to view and do whenever you can. Afterall, our greatest tool for planning exceptional escapes is our directly experience. Sometimes I play a whole lot that I think that I needed a trip from my vacation! On Grand Cayman I could love a guilt-free beach holiday. After 2-three days of exploring the island, I had basically seen all this so could enjoy the rest of my time soaking in the sun with the family.
We spent the first nights at Coral Stone Club. A tiny, independently owned condominium complex on Seven Mile Beach (SMB) with 32 three bedroom, 3 bath units offered to rent on a regular basis. Positioned in three, three-story buildings, each of these 1800 sq . ft . units have the identical layout and provide views of your ocean. A few things to take note since these units are typical individually owned you`ll obtain the dcor, bedding and kitchen amenities vary. Unlike some of the larger condo complexes here, you may select and book a specific unit at Coral Stone Club. For families with small kids I would suggest deciding on a ground floor unit. We found this incredibly helpful when our young son was having a nap, I was able to still take a seat on our terrace using a book, start to see the ocean yet still be within earshot. For anyone looking for a quieter location, decide on a top floor unit that have vaulted ceilings and unobstructed ocean views. It is a true self-catering condo complex and the employees are virtually non-existent. Once we arrived on a Saturday among the housekeepers allow us to inside the unit with the instructions to check on-in on the desk on Monday. In addition, i didn`t discover the staff in the front desk each of the insightful once i requested their personal recommendations on points to see & do. Bear in mind though that almost all people staying listed below are either owners or vacationers which were coming for years. Hanging out through the pool will be the course of action from the afternoon as the owners come together like long-lost friends and welcome us new timers. Those are the real wealth of information with insider tips on points to see and experience whilst in Grand Cayman. We stayed in unit # 5 which we found to be very cozy and well-appointed. You might tell the owners are here frequently as there was every kitchen utensil and gadget imaginable available. You can definitely find it odd that I was impressed with that but when you`re just like me someone who frequently stays in cayman or private homes with extended family you`ll appreciate that. We appreciated the screened in porch and spent time and effort here enjoying meals and playing games. The grocery store is across the road within walking distance and you could you may want to bring the cart straight back to the machine. The store will be sending staff later within the day to collect the carts from your neighboring condo properties. The actual highlight here I believe is the beach. Coral Stone Club enjoys a very wide, clear part of beach with the perfect balance of natural tree shade and beach loungers. I would recommend a stop at Coral Stone Club in a heartbeat for families looking for an upscale-yet-down-home beachfront vacation. This could also be an incredible destination for 2-3 couples to talk about a unit and enjoy a soothing holiday. Rates start at $695 per night. Plan your visit in the summertime months and receive your 6th night free!
Our next stop was the Caribbean Club just a couple of doors down. If you`ve been to Grand Cayman you could recall the Caribbean Club of old which was made up of several cozy beach and garden cottages. After hurricane Ivan the brand new owners completely tore down and rebuilt three luxurious towers bringing a whole new measure of luxury to SMB. Having spent a couple of days at Coral Stone Club where I felt the accommodations were already quite nice, I did so not expect the opulence of Caribbean Club. Separated into three towers which are in U shape facing the ocean, all units are huge at 2500 sq . ft . with three bedrooms and three baths and very richly appointed. Caribbean Club operates much more like a hotel in this they do have full staff with daily maid service, concierge and room service available. Their on-site restaurant and bar Ristorante Luca serves up a delectable combination of Italian cuisine and fresh seafood and is a superb location to enjoy music from the evenings. All of the units are individually owned and decorated and have a huge verandah facing either the pool or ocean. Due to the layout in the property when you are in the pool view unit, be ready to be right in addition to your neighbors. Little privacy can be found here when all units basically face one another. The floor floor ocean front villa suites are particularly fantastic as you literally walk 4 steps off of the verandah and get your toes in the sand. Our particular unit was very luxurious however, not as personalized or that child friendly (think glass tables and lots of breakables). Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stop at Caribbean Club and that i would recommend this property for all those 80dexapky with older children, adolescents or several couples seeking luxury accommodations with a little more options in the way of dining and entertainment. Rates start at $650 per night in low season to get a Tower ocean suite.
One more great option is the greater moderate Lacovia complex in lower SMB. Even closer to George Town, this complex resembles more of a flat building with ample parking, a garden pool in the heart of the complex and an array of accommodations from 1-2 bedroom units with either garden, pool or ocean views. Each unit is individually owned and decorated with many units very moderate and updated and others`not a whole lot. Each unit we saw was very clean, comfortable and included each of the amenities one would expect of any rental. What makes Lacovia this sort of appealing option I do believe will be the quiet atmosphere, fantastic beachfront location and value. One bedroom units start only $290 per night in low season which for this quality of accommodation in Grand Cayman is a great deal. Great selection for couples, families or single travelers trying to find a destination to escape it all.
Also worth mentioning is definitely the contact southbaybeachclub.com. The sole five diamond resort around the island and the best option if you are searching for any full service resort. With consistent Ritz Carlton services and amenities this resort delivers a full service spa (consistently ranked from the top 2 from the Caribbean) and a lot of the best restaurants in the island. Even if you don`t remain at the Ritz, make plans for dinner at 7 Prime Cuts & Sunset or BLUE by Eric Ripert that offers fine dining and a romantic atmosphere. It is very important note that the principle hotel can be found across the street through the beach so when you book garden or resort view rooms, you`ll should walk towards the beach through their air bridge. They actually do come with an oceanfront tower on the beach that is a few things i would recommend should your budget allows. This is the most suitable option for honeymooners looking for luxury. Rates start at $299 per night in low season with 5th night free. Oceanfront rooms start at $579 per night.
